Favourite type of blind for light
With our current obsession with decoration and home improvements, one of the biggest conundrums comes balancing privacy with allowing as much natural light in as possible. As blinds are becoming more and more popular, trying to ascertain what the favourite type of blind to let the light in isn’t an easy question to answer.
However, there’s no need to give up hope, yet. Far from it, as we’re going to look at what are perhaps the best type of blind for letting light in.
Big budgets?
Of course, those with a big budget could consider slatted frames or shutters, but for the majority of us who have to watch our finances, blinds certainly provide a practical solution that are also economical.
Before we solve the puzzle of the favourite type of blind to let the light in, it may be prudent to reconsider the factors. Of course, no blind at all would provide the most light in, but then we’ve no privacy or protection from strong sunlight.
What is the best blind?
So, it stands to reason we need to presume that a blind of some type is needed, but what does it need to do? Let’s suggest the best blind types would :-
- provide suitable protection from light
- be relatively hassle-free to allow light in (when required)
- be cost-effective to install
- offer a wide choice of designs and styles
- be easy to maintain and clean
- match many different window styles
- have a contemporary look
Sheer blinds are an option
When we consider all the factors above, we’d suggest that perhaps our favourite type of blind to let the light in would be Sheer Blinds.
We suggest sheer blinds because they let in an abundance of light when required, yet provide privacy – from neighbours for instance – when required with a few slight movements.
Sheer blinds can also incorporate additional features for additional privacy, such as incorporating blackout material to give the maximum shielding from light. It’s also possible to alternative sheer blind slats with blackout fabric to create a ‘slatted’ effect at night.
Then of course, whenever we need more light, we can either tilt the slats on our sheer blinds to let varying degrees of light through, or even retract (or lift) the blinds to the top of the window frame to allow the maximum light.
So with sheer blinds, we solve the conundrum central to determining the favourite type of blind to let the light in. By balancing protection with flexibility of allowing light in, sheer blinds provide a perfectly practical, economical and flexible solution for all windows and doors.
Finally, for the more discerning, choosy and fashion-conscious homeowner or interior designer, sheer blinds offer a multitude of colours, styles and patterns to suit everyone.
